Chail was the summer capital of princely state of Patitala. The town is built on three hills.One contain Chail palace , the second is a Chail village and the third Snow View mansion.
At a distance of three kilometers from the Chail village the World’s highest Cricket ground is situated. this ground has the height of 2444 meters above the sea level.The place is known for Scotish red Deer.
In winter, temperature can hover just above freezing point when heavy woolens are required. During summer, the climate is hot and cottons are recommended.
How To Get here :
By Road : Shimla to Kalka road via Kandaghat or via Kufri.
By Rail : The closest rail head is at Shimla near bus stand and is linked with Kalka with the toy train. Kalka is linked with many big cities through narrow gauge.
By Air : The airport at Shimla is at a distance of 63 km at Jubbarhati. Taxis/buses are available from these places to Shimala. Direct flights from Delhi are available on alternate days.

The world’s hightest Cricket ground is situated in Chail. This ground is at a height of 2444 mtrs. This ground was made on the instructions of Maharaja of Patiala in 1893.
